NMDA General Membership meeting

Jan. 12, 2019

Marriott

The meeting was opened by President, Barbara Burkhardt who introduced the members of the Board of Directors for 2019 and thanked present and previous board members for their service.

Barbara then gave some statistics for 2018:

We had 94 members

We put on 6 schooling shows and one USEFrecognized show.

At the schooling shows we had an average of 38 rides per show.

We had 23 volunteers who put in many hours.

Winnie Fitch, Treasurer, gave the 2018 financials.  NMDA is in good financial condition.

Barbara reiterated NMDA bylaws and objectives, goals and touched briefly on what a 501-C3 tax exempt organization does.  We are an educational organizations emphasizing beginning riders and dressage novices.

We will have 7 schooling shows in 2019.

The volunteer hours requirement has been dropped for year end awards but we still need volunteers in all positions.

The dressage test booklets went from $6.95 each to $9.95 each.  Every member who requests one when they submit their membership form gets their first booklet free.  After that we have to charge $12.00 each for them.

There was a question from the floor about waiving the non-member fee for owners who are entering an NMDA show for the first time.  The Board will take this up at their next regular meeting.  There was also a question about waiving the non-member fee for first time exhibitors, especially the Junior riders, which the Board will also discuss.

General meeting adjourned at 12:30PM

Submitted,

Winnie Fitch, Treasurer

Barbara moved to accept minutes with one addition, John seconded, all approved.
